Beauty Advent Calendars 2018

This last Holiday season I had my hands on two Advent Beauty Calendars. These were my first Advent Calendars ever.  We did not have this tradition growing up however my husband was very familiar with it.  I was late in the game to evaluate all the options early on therefore, I was not able to choose other sold out options.  Later on,  I found out that Barbara Sturm had one as well but I did not want to risk it in just one line with a steep retail price.   I chose the Space NK Advent Calendar and the Net a Porter Advent Calendars.  Both of them offer good value for the money and some of the product are in both calendars.

I wanted to review both calendars based on the day number with the products that I was excited to see, try and that I may have bought.

Space NK Advent Beauty Calendar:

This calendar is for twenty five days.  Every day is a surprise and the combination of gold, green and burgundy gives it a festive flair during the Christmas season.  I love to get a small Space NK candle in the Shimmering Spice scent on day one.  These were my favorite products:

Day 4: Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil (Travel Size).  I already have this night oil, but it was nice to receive a travel size as well.

Day 6 : Dr. Barbara Sturm Cleanser.  I already love the Hyaluronic Serum from this line therefore it was nice to try the cleanser in a travel size.

Day 7: By Terry Eye Liner in a standard size.  I already have one of these liners in a purple shade but, it is very handy to have it in black now.  It felt great to have a normal size product specially when I know It has a retail price of $30.00.

Day 8: Natura Bisse Diamond Instant Glow.  This is exfoliating treatment similar to Dr. Gross in the concept of of using an active product and a neutralizer but it is in ampoules presentation.  I was intrigue and tried right away and loved it.  I proceed to order it.

Day 10: Omorovicza  Queen of Hungary Mist.  It is nice to have a mist on a travel size on hand.

Day 12: Chantecaille Jasmine and Lily Healing Mask.  I have been waiting a long time to try this mask and it did not disappoint.  It was fantastic to receive in a travel size.

Day 13: Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder.  This is another product I was excited to receive.  It is great that I can try this formula and it is also in a travel size.

Day 17: Sunday Riley Juno Essential Face Oil.  This was the first product of Sunday Riley I tried around eight years ago and used a long time.  This was before this line began to add more products and other face oils.

Day 20: Votary Toning Serum Lemon and Neroli.  This is a purchase size and although I have not tried yet, I am looking forward to try it.

Day 21: Lipstick Queen Lipstick in Medieval in a travel size.  This is the original color when this line of lip products was launched.  It is a classic.

Day 24: Malin and Goetz Eucalyptus Deodorant in a travel size.  I tried it and am quite impressed with it.

Net-a-porter Beauty Advent Calendar:

This calendar has a luxurious presentation in black and with beige accessible drawers per day.  It is also for twenty five days.  This calendar was $50.00 less expensive than the one from Space NK and was available for a longer period.  These were my favorite findings for this calendar:

Day 5:  Aromatherapy Associates Support Lavender Peppermint Bath and Shower Gel in a travel size.  I love trying shower gels.   I am still looking for the perfect formula and scent for me.

Day 7: R+Co Park Ave Blow Out Balm.  Looking forward to try this balm.

Day 8: Illamasqua Gel Sculp. This is a contouring bar in a gel formula to the contact.  This is a convenient travel size.

Day 9: Chantecaille Gold Energizing Eye Recovery Mask sample size.  Love eye masks and I am looking forward to try this one.

Day 16: Sarah Chapman Morning Facial in a travel size.  I love the Overnight Facial from this line therefore I am looking forward to try the Morning version.

Day 18: Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eye Liner.  I was excited to try this liner for a long time however I do not define it Skinny but precise.  My favorite part of it is that it does not smudge during the day and how deep is the black color.

Day 24: Charlotte Tilbury Goddess Satin Clay Mask travel size.  I like the mask therefore it was nice to receive a travel size.

Day 25: Le Labo Shower Gel and Body Cream.  It is nice to try this line that I am not familiar with.

I prefer the variety of products and sizes that Space NK offered in their Advent Calendar even though it was a 25% more expensive. I think it offered more value for the money in luxury lines.  I will definitely will get my hands on one of these calendars for the holidays of 2019. I was surprise that Sephora and Blue Mercury did not have something similar given the variety of products Sephora and Blue Mercury offer but I suspect that this will change and that we may even see high end department stores entering into the game.  Let me know in your comments below if you try any Beauty Advent Calendar and what do you think about them.
