This winter I have been very happy with how my skin has faced the winter weather. Specially these past historic freezing conditions, last week.
There are some products that I keep using the whole year but there are some that I have change. I will explain below the reasons why I have changed a couple.
I begin the morning usually with an exfoliating cleanser. I love Dr. Sturm Enzyme Cleanser but, I ran out of it during last November. I am currently using Stone Crop Oxygenating Fizzofoliant by Eminence. It is a powder to scrub foam product for all skin types although sensitive skin. With contact with water drops, it produces a green fizzing action to apply to the skin, avoiding the eye area, to buff and smooth the skin. This product has brightening properties with a combination of Adzuki fluor, stone crop, rice power and microgreens. These microgreens are a combination of broccoli, radish, clover sprouts and Detoxophane from Swiss cress sprouts.
If my skin contour feels inflamed, then I use water in ice to remove any residue of product. These helps to tone inflammation plus helps to close the pores.
I don’t use a Tonic but an Essence. I love SKII and Orveda SAP but during this winter I tried Bioeffect EGF Essence which is alcohol and oil free. It is a light hydrating essence. I just pour a couple of drops in my palms and distributed to the skin with soft pression. The base of this product is Barley. Besides that, I don’t see any interesting ingredient.
Following the Essence, I proceed with a combination of Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin C. Since last fall, I have been using Goopglow 20% Vitamin C + Hyaluronic Acid Glow Serum. This was the pleasant surprise of 2020. I put around 4 to five drops in my hand and distribute it on my face, avoiding the eye area. This product combines L-ascorbic acid and hyaluronic acid that are combined to use in one final presentation.
L-ascorbic acid in powder form is mixed with the hyaluronic acid serum when the product is opened for the first time.
I really like this product. My skin feels clear, firm, contoured, hydrated and keep the radiance every day that I use it.
Eye cream will follow but I use a serum instead because I tend to carry oil in this area. I like a Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Ferulic + Retinol Triple Correction Eye Serum. I like the combination of ingredients to have a brighter area plus has firming properties. I like that can be used in all the eye area. I mean including the lids.
To seal the moisture, I am using Augustinus Rader The Rich Cream. I tried this product in the past and I find it to be very good but, I continued my loyalty to La Mer. This time I think, that a purchase may be in the near future (I received travel sizes to test in the past). It could be the combination of products and the potency of the active ingredients. This cream is rich in omega 6 fatty acids and antioxidants. It contains argan, avocado and evening primrose oil.
I end the skincare regime with Sun Protection. I love Cane and Austin but was not able to find my product in Amazon, I decided to try something different. It is combination of sun protection plus primer. The scent is not the best but, the coverage is excellent without leaving a white residue. Great for under make up. I wish it was a higher SPF. This is 30 SPF which is good but, I like a higher SPF living under the Texas sun.
This routine takes me three to four minutes. I am very automatic about it now. It is a habit, but I change products with seasons or because I ran out of them. I may add another serum if I notice dryness. The products I change the least are the serum and moisturizer. I have my favorites and even I try other brands, I go back. With the night routine is that I experiment the most with different serums, masks and creams and I am still in my search of the perfect eye cream.
